Wellness is the travel trend of 2026 and honestly, thank god!

Wellness is having a moment in 2026, but not in a “matcha, Pilates, morning routine” kind of way.

More in a “my nervous system is cooked and I need to lie down in nature” kind of way.

And honestly, same.

Because I’m 44, in perimenopause, a mum of two young girls, running my own business, and doing daily apple orchard work that never ends. Constant maintenance. If you know, you know.

So yes, I’m leaning into wellness. Not because it’s trendy, but because it’s essential for my sanity, and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone.

Because if you’ve opened Instagram lately, you’ve seen it too. Every second headline from the travel world is basically screaming the same thing: wellness is the new travel trend. And honestly, it tracks.

The new luxury is feeling better

2026 travel isn’t about cramming in activities. It’s about booking a reset.

People want a stay that does something to them. Not in a scary way. In a “wow I slept properly and my shoulders aren’t up around my ears anymore” way.

That’s why saunas are everywhere right now. Not just because they look good in photos, but because they make you feel good in real life.

Sauna life: the easiest wellness ritual ever

The thing I love about a sauna is you don’t need to be a wellness person to use it.

You don’t need a schedule.
You don’t need an instructor.
You don’t need to do it “right”.

You just step in, get warm, breathe, and suddenly you’re not thinking about your inbox, or what’s for dinner, or the fact you forgot to text someone back three days ago.

It’s like your brain does a soft reboot.

Hot, cold, or somewhere in between

So we’ve added a brand new sauna by Sauna Sphere, plus a bath that can be used as a cold plunge or a warmer rest.

And yes, I chose a bath on purpose.

Because I don’t want wellness to feel like a punishment.

Cold plunging can be amazing for some people, but sudden cold water immersion can also trigger the “cold shock response”, basically a rapid jump in breathing, heart rate and blood pressure. The American Heart Association explains this, and it’s also why cold immersion can be risky for some people.

So instead of locking everyone into an ice bath situation, I wanted options.

Because some days you’re like:
Yes, give me cold, I’m ready.

And other days you’re like:
Absolutely not. I need warm water and silence.

Also, women can experience cold exposure differently, and there’s plenty of expert advice out there that says start gentler and don’t assume the same approach suits everyone.

And in the mountains, the cold water is basically ice half the year anyway. So if you do want a cold plunge moment, you’re kind of good to go either way. No fancy dedicated ice bath needed. You can make it properly cold, naturally, or you can keep it gentler depending on the day, the season, and your nervous system.

So our bath is the choose-your-own-adventure version:
Cool dip.
Gentle plunge.
Warm soak.
Whatever your body needs.

The actual wellness trend of 2026

Here’s my take.

Wellness in 2026 is not about being hardcore. It’s about being smart.

It’s about nervous system rest.
It’s about digital detox.
It’s about getting out of the scroll and into real life.
It’s about simple rituals that make you feel human again.

And the funny part is, it’s not complicated.

It’s warmth.
It’s nature.
It’s quiet.
It’s time.

Me included

I’m not building this stuff purely for guests. I need it too.

I need it to remember who I am as a person, not just a provider for everyone else around me.

Because everyone’s living in fast-forward these days, and it catches up with you. So if the travel world is finally catching up and calling this a “trend”, I’ll take it.
